D.N.Angel (D.N.Angel)
Niwa Daisuke's life was never that of a normal teenager. He has been trained in the arts of theft and become a master at it. On his 14th birthday, his life gets turned upside down. The day starts out bad for him after being only "just a great friend" for his long time crush Harada Risa. Depressed, he suddenly transforms into Dark Mousy, the phantom thief! However, Daisuke can only transform into Dark when he sees Risa, while Dark can only transform back into Daisuke when he sees Riku, Risa's twin sister.

With every passing theft, Dark grows stronger, and so do his opponents. Just as every hero need an enemy, so does Dark. Satoshi Hiwatari, a child prodigy and the commander-in-chief of the police squad set to capture Dark. Just as when Daisuke became Dark, so did Satoshi become Krad, the white-winged counterpart to Dark. Unlike Dark, Krad doesn't seem to care about other lives, despite his seemingly "good" colors. In the past, though, it was Krad who sealed both him and Dark into entrapment. With the final battle between Krag and Dark drawing ever nearer, will Daisuke and Dark be able to overcome evil? And will they both finally be able to declare their love for Risa and Riku respectively?

The Story was definitely unique, and it does deserve credit for its awesome introductive episodes. But as it moved on both the artwork and the story gets stretched. Fighting with magic artifacts and feathers may be cool for female viewers (and was unique in the beginning), but it was also kind of lame after a few times. The story becomes horrifically clichéd and the lack of villainy is slowly fading. Character personalities wise, I didn't really know what they were trying to portray Dark as - a bad boy with a good heart, or a jerk who takes girls for a ride? Krad was more or less portrayed as the all-around evil, slightly psychotic jerk. Risa definitely started to grate on my nerves after a while. Riku did too, to some extent, but she was nowhere near as annoying as Risa.
Although I didn't like the idea of merging the 3D art and the 2D art, particularly towards the end of the anime, the effect turned out to be just plain weird. I’ve to admit that generally the animation was so slick that it was sexy. The characters and the environment all looked awesome and the way they combined CG and hand drawn characters were wicked.

Chobits (ちょびっツ)
In the future, personal computers have developed into "Persocons", mobile computers that look like human beings. Hideki Motosuwa, a prep school student, desperately wants to buy a Persocon but cannot afford to. One day he finds a Persocon that has been thrown away and decides to keep it. When he turns on the Persocon, all she can say is "Chii" so he decides to name her that. After a while it starts to become apparent that Chii is more than an average Persocon. Having much better performance, it seems that Chii might be a "Chobit", a type of advanced Persocon rumoured to have independent thought.

When I first heard of this show I was skeptical. It sounded too much like any ordinary love but with a gimmick of a robot as the female. After watching, I am thrilled to say I was wrong. However, it was a bit disappointing to see it in action. I know that people who set their sights too high on an anime usually end up with this result.
The characters in this anime are simply brilliant. From the total cuteness which is Chi, to the desperate but very caring Hideki. Eh... this storyline wasn't quite that "original". What brought fans flocking to Chobits, however, was most likely the abundant ecchiness found in Chobits. It really thwacked my mind to see that there was an entire episode dedicated to how Chii buys panties, for crying out loud!

The animation never withered throughout the entire series. However, I must say the animation isn't what I would call highly unique. The way the persocons were drawn were really cute however, everyone's eyes lacked emotion. Looking into their eyes seemed like you were looking into an endless pit, or a dark hole. CLAMP has their own distinct style and the animators did not change it as they have done with many other anime. I especially love the details in Chii's long hair.

I think we did a great job yesterday. We earned a revenue of $100++. After deducting the cost, we earned around $40++. Not bad right! At least can pay for the next few sets of geog, hist n econs notes. I'm proud of us =D

Hey i'm here to give some updates on the class stall tmr.
Basically our service is reduced to tarot card reading only becoz yezi lost her voice. And we are selling lucky pouches which yezi's mom had helped us sew. Inside these pouches are scented dried leaves and flowers and we will add rice oso because rice can ward of bad luck. Ya so it's supposed to be real "lucky pouches" k. And kaili and xihui are going to prepare the gel bottles which have msgs inside. So here are the prices --
- Lucky pouch and the gel bottles are at $1.50 each
- Tarot card reading is $2 (either per customer or per 5 min smth liddat)
Yup some pple think the tarot card reading is too ex while some think it's too cheap. So $2 is like average la.
The location of our booth will be at the raised wooden platform near S6B's class bench. And the idea of the design is smth like tie rafia strings arnd the metal poles above and hang ponchos over the strings so that it can become a tent-like thing. Hopefully it will work la. If pple want to have their fortune told they will go inside the tent and outside the entrance of the tent we will be selling the lucky charms.
So tmr the plan is --
- Meet xushu at a12 class bench at 4pm.
- Go and chop the place where we are going to set up our booth in case pple fight with us la
- Get the ponchos from OAC (call zongxiao). We've booked 8 ponchos from them.
- Try to tie the strings get everything in place.
- We are supposed to report to the audi basement at 6.30pm.
- The actual selling starts from 8 to arnd 9.
Pple who have told me they are coming to help are -- Serene, Zoe, Joanna, Catherine, Xi An, Tianni. Yuanxin, Puikit and Zhongwen may be coming.
Xushu will be in charge tmr so contact her if there's any problem k. Sie Yen will come and man the stall but can't join in the preparations coz still got chi soc stall. Yup that's all i think. JIAYOU! Enjoy your maf! Make it our best night in hwa chong. -- Sie Yen

Bleach (ブリーチ)
Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other Shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.
This is an amazing anime in general, the feeling is reminiscent of Naruto in that the plot is quick paced, the humor is actually hilarious, and the voice acting is great! There is a good combine of comedy, super powers, school kids, friendships and action fighting. With the catchy title and action-packed episodes, bleach is sure to go on your top 5 anime. The best part of this anime is the fighting. The fight scenes are powerful, it's like Ichigo is the man!! He can whip anyone’s ass regardless of who he's dealing with. The idea of having a weapon, the Soul Slayer as another entity in this anime, to cut and protect is cool. Bleach's animation is maybe not the best drawn animation but it is still extremely eye pleasing. Graphics are very detailed if one has a keen eye to notice it. I'd have to say that bleach is one of the most humorous anime ever.

it has been quite some time since i lasted posted something up here. now that my own blog is down it's high time i write something here.
let me tell you a story regarding this blog:
one fine day before promos mouzy and i decided that this blog, with this template and this rate of update (more people tagging than posting entries) it's not enough to foster class spirit and create a unique identity for the class, so it should be revamped.
finally i'm going to do something in the capacity of welfare rep (it's ok, i forgot also). mouzy and i decided that we want to begin with the hearty comrades section. we'll change it into a wikipedia style. a typical entry will look something like this:
Mou Zong Xiao (Chinese: 牟宗潇 mou2 zong1 xiao1) (born 26 May 1989) is the 2nd assistant CT rep of 06A12. ... sections will include "Early Life", "Trivia" and "Scandals and Controversies", just like the real wiki, go see an entry about any famous personality to get an idea. it will work the same way as the free encyclopaedia, anyone from class is free to change contents.
that means, people other than yourself get to provide info about you. that should be a lot more fun, since hearty comrades is only updated by zongxiao now.
you all game to this idea?

Ai Yori Aoshi (藍より青し)
Kaoru Hanbishi, a poor Tokyo college student, is on his way home one afternoon when he meets a beautiful girl in a kimono who is looking for the home of somebody special to her. When he takes it upon himself to help her find this person, he is shocked to discover that she is actually looking for him- she is his childhood fiancé Aoi Sakuraba. Although their engagement was cancelled years ago, Aoi's devotion has driven her to come to Tokyo alone to find her beloved Kaoru and be with him. But there are many things standing between them, not least of which is the substantial difference between their social status- while Kaoru is just a poor student, Aoi is the daughter and heir to a rich family. Will their love be able to endure the trials before them?
Effectively a "magical girlfriend" story with the magic replaced by extra fan service, Ai Yori Aoshi is a fairly by-the-numbers romance. With the requisite amount of comic misunderstandings, hot springs episodes, melodrama, WAFF and dim-yet-busty girls the series is, for the most part, an amusing but generic story. However, there is one thing which keeps the series from mediocrity, and that is the wonderfully appealing relationship between the two leads. Although Kaoru is your classic kind-hearted sappy girl magnet (with a few wrinkles in his back-story which make him a bit more interesting) and Aoi is just a Belldandy-style gentle-and-loving-doormat, their oh-so-sweet romance gives the series a real core of strength, making viewing much more worthwhile every time it shows up (in between heavy doses of filler and fan service).
The other characters are the usual disposable group of support characters- loser friends, junior classman/maid, foreign bimbo, bratty childhood acquaintance, stern minder and cute animal mascot, with personalities ranging from amusing to outright annoying. The fan service often verges on excessive, but the series does usually manage to be quite funny when it tries. Although most of the episodes are filler, they rarely become tedious and the glimpses of Kaoru/Aoi material are well worth watching for. Technically, the animation is decent if unspectacular, boasting some attractive and exquisite character designs (especially Aoi), while the Japanese voice acting is overall quite good.
